Herb Lipsman is president and CEO of Sugar Land-based The Health Club Co., which specializes in management and consulting services to upscale health clubs, country clubs, spas and luxury resorts. Lipsman launched his business in 2006 after 13 years with The Redstone Cos. in various capacities including general manager of The Houstonian Club and vice president of development for The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, where he was responsible for all new property development including club renovations, resort swimming pools and the development of Trellis Spa. Lipsman also founded Houstonian Lite Health Clubs and served as senior vice president of marketing and business development for The Redstone Cos. In 1999, he was elected to the board of directors of the International Health, Racquet and Sports Club Association and in 2005 was appointed chairman of The Mayor’s Wellness Council by Houston Mayor Bill White. Lipsman was interviewed by Christine Hall.
